You can shut your fucking mouth, Oscar Wilde. Trust me, I’d love to run away and leave everyone and everything behind, drop out of school and quit work, not worry about money or obligations or my future… I’d lie in a fucking field and read books and smell the flowers and stare at the moon forever if I could, and I’d be blissfully happy.

However, that’s obviously not realistic. Either times have changed since the days of Oscar Wilde, or he was on some major drugs that I wish I could get my hand on. 

Freedom, books, flowers, the moon… Maybe the only thing I’m missing from “the list of things you need to be happy” is freedom, and that’s no doubt the most important. Who COULD be happy these days when you’re bound by all the restrictions and expectations of work, school, your parents, peers, and society? Death seems like the only place I’ll find freedom and happiness. The only way to escape. Maybe in the next life I can lie under the moon in a field of flowers and read a book… at least there’s something to look forward to.
